Eat, Drink, Be Merry and Donate!
If you are feeling thirsty on the Friday 2nd August (next Friday), please consider venturing down to the Monk on South Terrace in Fremantle. They are doing an adult only fundraiser for Port School from 5-7pm. We get $1 for every pint sold...Or if you are in Freo next week, consider dropping in to the pub and throwing a few coins in their donation "keg" for us! All proceeds will go to help the students on their
excursion to Kuala Lumpur to visit and work with a school for kids who
are mentally challenged in Klang.
This is obviously a staff led fundraiser and not for students!!

Our Annual Drive is on!!!
The 2013 school year is well and truly underway and another brilliant year @ Port is in full swing.
So perhaps you've helped before - or maybe your a newbie - either way give us a hand to help our Western Australian kids make better choices, forge new pathways and turn lives around... come on, you know you want to!

What do we hope to achieve?
After the highly successful international trip for Port students to Malaysia last year,
another is planned for a committed bunch of Port Schoolers. International travel, is
usually not within the bounds of most Port families' budgets so we've added a scholarship
program to support students who are willing to put in the hours, commit to solid
school attendance and academic progress and are willing to earn a share of the
costs of the trip. These students also work with the school to earn additional funds
to support the program. The tour includes time in an underprivileged school in Malaysia
where the tables are turned and our students are the ones 'giving' and helping others.

What do we hope to achieve?
Funds to support 4 students with personal academic scholarships to further their interests and dreams. But that not all we also hope to raise funds to support 4 students to take part in the International Aid support trip.
So can we do it? Not without your help. We are seeking donations to fund four students within the Port School program. Each school engagement scholarship is valued at $500. Students will be awarded with 4 term instalments to purchase, art materials, books, music, instruments and the like to further their personal education focus.

Our International Aid trip requires 4 $500 scholarships to assist our students with the attainment of passports, luggage and travel needs.
So that's either...
a generous $500 donation - a full scholarship award - with naming rights if requested this would be a wonderfully philanthropic thing to do and quite frankly the world will shower you with fabulous karma. You will also be invited to the awards ceremony to present the award personally and we will shower you with gratitude (might even be free food!). If you are a business we will recognise your efforts in our Port School publications, our Blog and whenever we see you coming.
You and 10 mates all put in $50 each - again a full scholarship is realised
You've helped a young person in need within our local community and you will be invited to attend the awards ceremony to personally present the award should you wish (don't forget the free food - they make it in their kitchens, it's good stuff, I've tasted it!
$2, $5, $10, $20 You contribute whatever you can, no matter how small and before you know it the warmth and generosity of this fine community has again realised another scholarship. We'll even organise official receipts so you can claim it on your tax! Okay you can come to the food party too!
